Annoying when people miss / don't read the not in use sign though.
In those situations i thought they were good. Workmen around and those lanes were way too narrow to speed.

Problem is with ave speed cams, i'd tend to concentrate more on my speedometer the whole time rather than any hazards out my windscreen.

Re: Average Speed Camera's

For those trying to speed through the cameras and/or avoid the fine, you just need to ask yourself if where you're trying to get to is worth the £60 fine and three points just to be there 5 minutes earlier?

The changing lane thing doesn't work anymore, this used to work because there was no link up at the end of the variables with the cameras at the beginning, I believe this has been resolved now.

Not talking about the variable speed cams, talking about when they do roadworks they put down traffic cones and stick up Average Speed Cameras - the big orange pole with the multiple cameras pointing to the road.

Once the roadworks are finished, they pick up the traffic cones and sometimes just leave the average speed cams standing there. They do stick up a sign saying that the average speed cams are not in use though.

I've come across these on motorways where they are doing roadworks in sections - probably so they don't have to cart the camera back into storage and then out again for a section further down the motorway.
