Re: Your essential wardrobe

Waterfall cardigans are usually left open and they have flowy sides where you would usually button up the Cardigan. It's supposed to resemble water cascading down a waterfall but instead it's material cascading down your front. Generally slouchy and good for layering on top of tshirts and wearing at home being comfy. Sorry it would be better to post a pic but I'm on my phone and cba to find and link

Are you sure you're just referring to the cardigan?

Re: Your essential wardrobe

I got a waterfall cardi.. its really cosy to wear. But I find it bit drafty sometimes having no fastening in the front. In fact I had bought it on the thought of using a brooch to clip it if needed. But I am not very good at these things, getting the right angle to look good etc. without looking like a bag lady.

What I do have missing in my essential wardrobe at the moment is collection of belts. I have trouble finding small enough sizes. The children ones are too small and the adult ones mostly too big!

Help, anyone?

All I can suggest is opting for belts that are leather and have actual holes in the belt so you can get additional holes punched and have the belt resized that way? Sadly for elasticated ones that is going to be tricky/impossible to resize. Also try to find brands which do XS sizing or generally are cut quite small, I know Reiss does XS belts, my friend who has a 24in waist/size 6 gets those and they tend to fit. I'm guessing it's more waisted belts that you are having trouble with rather than hip belt (because if that's the case, try using waist belts as hip belts). I went through a stage where I used ribbon for belting dresses. Also I've used men's cumberbands as waisted belts and just used a safety pin to fasten it as it was far too big. Then Gok did the same thing on one of his shows and I stopped doing it.

Re: Your essential wardrobe

Thanks for the suggestions, FF!

Yes its waisted belts I have trouble finding. I guess I need to shop around for places that do XS. What are cumberbands? That Gok, really!

she does look pretty but i think it because of the cardigan. when you wear a particular style of clothing, it resonate beauty and a certain quality.

i have to admit, the cardigan does bring out the qualities in her.

it’s been 10 minutes; i can't believe i’m still looking at her - i think there a special force at play beyond my control.

looking at it one more time, that cardigan simply spell out hug me - it's a hug me cardigan. it looks so warm and inviting you should buy one. i think it can make you look sensual too.

CIL, if you haven't got anything sensible to contribute to this thread then can you not spoil the enjoyment for others.

I started this thread for the purpose of the title.

Re: Your essential wardrobe

Cumberbands are those sashes of silk that men wear around their waist on top of the trouser band and shirt when they wear like tuxedo's to formal occasions. It's like they are meant to match the bow tie to the colour of cumberband.

ps; I think I saw your on Sat but I don't think we were formally introduced (: You were in a purple dress?

hmm... i was continuing on the topic of cardigans. apologies Tigergirl if it seem that way.

okay. my wardrobe:

1. i got panties - and belts to keep my panties up when they are really loose.

2. umm... i have shirts i luv that make me look sensible and sensual.

3. polo top which brings out the shape of my belly - fits really snugly around the waistline.

4. i have some really fantastic jeans that bring out the peach shapes of my bum.

oh, if you looking for a belt tigergirl, may i suggest visiting the key smith they can put an extra hole in one of your belts for you. i hope my advice is as valuable as my unique taste in collection wear.

Re: Your essential wardrobe

I don't have much hanging space and its on another floor of the house. My dressing room is just open shelves and drawers and I have another large unit being delivered tomorrow. I am determined to be more organised. Right now I have a lot of things on the floor.

How do people organise their clothes for storage, do you separate by season or by items? I am really not very good at being tidy. There must be an easier system so I don't spend all my time forever shuffling looking for the right outfit.
