| The British Born Chinese web site is a community driven web site operated on a not-for-profit community basis by volunteers. Technical and legal support is donated by Chinatown Online.
The Idea
The idea of the site is to provide a forum in which British Born Chinese can share experiences, ideas and thoughts. Although the site has been established by a handful of people, we very much hope that the numbers of contributors will grow.
Diversity
We strive to be a community driven site which allows diversity of opinion and respects diversity in general. Although there are many life experiences that we will have shared, we remain individuals, and through your contributions we hope to be one of the UK's most dynamic, relevant and visited grass roots web site.
Empowerment
There are two core purposes to this site. The first is empowerment. A common experience of the British Born Chinese is the need to balance our cultural heritage with the daily reality of living in Britain. Through sharing our experiences we hope to develop a stronger sense of identity, answer those questions we have always wondered about and provide inspiration.
Participation
The logical conclusion of all this is that people participate - our second core purpose. So, whether you want to be deep and philosophical or just want to share a joke we really want you to get involved. Browse these pages at leisure and let us know what you think.
If you have a complaint, please see our complaints procedure on the home page.
If you would like to advertise, please contact Chinatown Online via email who manage this aspect of the site.
